MISSION OF ARCPA
Represent the interests of its members and liaise with government, regulators, banking institutions, consumers, media, the community and other industry stakeholders on all issues that relate to the remittance and currency providers industry;
Foster and strengthen the relationship between the remittance and currency providers industry and members of the banking and financial services industry;
Foster and promote the highest standard of compliance and business practices across the remittance and currency providers industry;
Ensure the highest standard of compliance and business practices by members through certification;
Develop, promote and support a robust and competitive industry to benefit consumers and promote financial inclusion; and;
Facilitate continued learning and professional development amongst its members about compliance with regulations and industry best practice standards.
The Association formed in October 2014 and also aims to bring industry together to form a united voice for its members.
About the Directors
Kamran Mirza
Kamran is a founder member/Director of ARCPA from 2014 to 2016 and again from 2018. He is a veteran Banker with a demonstrated history of working in the financial services industry. Skilled in Compliance Management, Management, Leadership, Customer Service, and Strategic Planning. Strong professional with a Master of Business Administration MBA (Finance) from Institute of Business Administration. Pakistan.
He started & manages Aussie Forex & Finance Pty Ltd since 2005. He is a Fellow of Financial Services Institute of Australasia. (Finsia). He is also Associate member of GRC Institute. He is the responsible Manager for Aussie Forex & Finance Pty Ltd.’s AFSL.
Munir Mohammad
Munir Mohammad is a founding member and first elected Director of ARCPA, Munir is playing a very vital
ole in establishing memberships, engaging banks, government agencies, politicians, and regulators in
Australia and overseas.
He is also playing a very important role in sharing best practice and the development of the ARCPA
Certification Program, which is a world-first in industry standards for the remittance sector.
Munir is CEO of Sydney Forex Pty Ltd and his organisation is the first-ever ARCPA Compliance Certified
Remittance Service provider in Australia.
Munir has done a Degree in Business Accounting and holds serval professional diplomas/certificates in
Marketing, Management, Information Technology, and AMCL/CTF compliance.
Narasimhan S Parthasarathy
Having acquired academic and professional qualifications overseas, furthered his qualification in Australia from APICS in the field of Materials Management. These earned him the opportunity to manage an Australian organization, who were involved in Foreign Exchange and Remittance Services. By way of successfully transferring his skills, earned from a different area of operations to that of a Fx Remitter, he was approached by another global organization, namely Lotus Forex / Orient Exchange and has been heading their Australian operations, since 2007.
He has been involved with ARCPA from the formative days of the idea being mooted to have an association for the Remittance industry, subsequent to the de-banking issue surfacing on Australian shores. Has been on the Board of Directors of ARCPA for the last 3 years in the capacity / role of “Secretary”.
Ramanathan Karuppiah
Ram Karuppiah is an AML CTF Specialist and external reviewer with over two decades of industry
experience. He practices and trains different levels of compliance staff internationally. He was one of the
two Australians to be completing advanced CAMS AUDIT qualification in Hong Kong.
Ram is a fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants, International Compliance Association, and Institute of
Financial Accountants of UK. He is a Ph.D. candidate in Financial Crime and heads the member’s
certification directorate of Australian Remittances and Currency Exchange Providers Association Ltd.
Vaso Despotovic
Vaso Despotovic is the director and owner of BEO Group Australia, consisting of 4 companies; Beo-Export
Australia, Beo-Travel, Beo-Finance (Bendigo Bank Agency), and Beo-Media. He has successfully managed
Beo-Export for the past 27 years, specializing in all aspects of foreign exchange trading and all associated
currency services.
Mr. Despotovic has managed to become a 3 x Australian Small Business of the Year Finalist and Australian
Small Business Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist.
Australian Remittance and Currency Providers Association is the National industry body for remittance and foreign exchange businesses. ARCPA represents a significant portion of the industry as general members.
